Russ Tall Chief (Osage) is the Director of Student Engagement, Inclusion, and Multicultural Programs at Oklahoma City University. His play, The Chainsaw Artist (www.chainsawartist.net), premiered in 2017 in Norman, OK, and was most recently performed in March 2018 at the historic Constantine Theater in Pawhuska, OK. He is the author of “Jacobson and the Kiowa Five,” a play published by Sarah de Angelo and Dr. Regina McManigall-Grijalva in celebration of the Oklahoma City Theatre Company’s four-year anniversary of the New Native American Play Festival. He wrote the Foreword to Michael Snyder’s “John Joseph Mathews: Life of an Osage Writer,” published by the University of Oklahoma Press in 2017. Russ served as the Art Galleries Editor for Native Peoples Magazine from 2000 to 2015 and has curated exhibitions of Native art throughout the U.S. and in Paris, France. Russ is also a Taildancer in the In’lonshka Osage ceremonial dances.
